Creating Access for All: Digital Accessibility in Teaching
This online training is designed for FORTHEM partner universities' staff interested in making their teaching and digital content more accessible and inclusive. No prior knowledge of digital accessibility is required – just curiosity and a willingness to learn. The training is structured in three parts:
What, Why, and for Whom? What does digital accessibility really mean, why does it matter, and who benefits from it? In this session, we will explore the core principles of accessibility in higher education through the lens of research and practice. You will gain insight into how accessibility benefits everyone and how it fosters inclusion, learning, and equality in academic environments.
How to Make It Work? We will translate digital accessibility theory into practice. What does accessibility look like in teaching materials, online courses, and digital content? You will receive concrete guidance, practical tips, and easy-to-apply strategies for creating accessible documents, presentations, and digital learning environments.
Q&A and Practice Session: Test your knowledge, bring your own examples, or simply ask questions. This interactive session offers a supportive and safe space to explore, share, and deepen your understanding of accessibility in your daily work.
